The Workspace Security Helper is an internal data-loss-prevention tool deployed by GCBS on company-owned devices for its own employees. Its sole purpose is to help prevent the accidental disclosure of sensitive company information.
When an employee is about to send a message in an AI tool (e.g. ChatGPT, Claude, Gemini) or webmail, the extension checks the text locally in the browser for sensitive patterns such as API keys, passwords, and personal identifiers (PAN, Aadhaar, card numbers).
If a sensitive pattern is detected, only a redacted summary (the type of data and the outcome — e.g. "blocked" / "sent anyway") is reported to GCBS's internal monitoring system at gcgsecurity.com. The raw content is never transmitted.
It does not sell or share any data with third parties, does not track general browsing for advertising, and is not available to the public — it is provisioned only on GCBS company devices.
